Campaigns
Weaver Vale Conservatives will be addressing many key local issues. Principally, law and order, protection of the Green Belt and the local environment, safeguarding and sustaining rural communities and supporting the local industrial base.
Protecting your Neighbourhood by Putting More Police on the Beat
Law and order is the main concern of local residents. We will be highlighting our commitment to end the “drive-by” policing culture which has taken root and put more police out on the beat. We will be raising the concerns of local residents that sentences for those who commit crime are too lenient and the blizzard of paperwork which is preventing the police protect the people of mid-Cheshire.
Protecting Our Environment From Unwanted Developments
The Weaver Vale area has the highest proportion of Green Belt land in Cheshire. We will be campaigning to preserve the Green Belt and stop inappropriate developments which will severely damage the local amenity. Labour’s dilution of the planning protection previously enjoyed by green field sites puts in jeopardy the character and beauty of the area.
The amenity of our rural communities is being damaged by Government which has little respect for those who live, work and visit our historic villages, towns and open countryside. Weaver Vale Conservatives will be campaigning to preserve traditional pursuits whilst seeking to identify new sustainable solutions for rural areas of mid Cheshire.
Safeguarding our Manufacturing Base
The industrial base of the area is suffering from the weight of bureaucracy and tax inflicted by Labour. Local Conservatives will be fighting to relieve the burden from business, giving it a sustainable and competitive future.
