Alan Duncan Visits Vale Royal and Tips Tory Success

On Monday 15 January 2007, Alan Duncan MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Trade, Industry and Energy visited Vale Royal as part of a series of engagements across Cheshire.

He met with a number of local Councillors, Council Candidates and local business during the course of the afternoon, visited the site of the proposed third bridge across the River Weaver in Northwich town centre and finished off with an early evening drinks reception in Crowton.

The reception gave him the opportunity to meet a variety of local people from young parents, business people and pensioners, and gave a speech and answered questions on wide ranging topics from business, energy supply, energy waste, landfill tax, the environment and climate change

He also spoke of the change in the political climate where Labour is losing the battle for hearts and minds with the electorate and it is the Conservatives who offer the only genuine alternative.  With more and more people looking to the Conservative Party he expects widespread gains in the Local Elections in May including the Conservatives gaining a majority in Vale Royal Borough Council.

Weaver Vale Conservative Association Chairman Cllr Ralph Oultram said “I am delighted that Alan Duncan was able to visit us and give such encouragement not only for the forthcoming local elections in May but also towards our long term aim of returning a Conservative MP for Weaver Vale at the next general election.”
