Fair Fuel Stabiliser

 Following the start of a nationwide consultation on the price of fuel, Cllr Graham Evans, prospective Conservative MP for Weaver Vale said: “It’s really important that we see more done to tackle the cost of living here in Weaver Vale.  Petrol prices are one of the biggest problems for many of the people I speak with and the prospect of a further 2p a litre tax rise in October is going to hit families hard.

“I’m keen that anyone in our area, who has a view on the price of petrol and diesel is able to make their voice heard.  That’s why I’m giving them George Osborne’s email address!  His consultation document on plans to stabilize the price of fuel is open to anyone in Weaver Vale. Had the Fair Fuel Stabiliser been introduced in the last budget, people in our area would already be paying 5p a litre less every time they fill up at the pumps.”
