Conservative Landslide in Local Elections

The Elections for the new Cheshire West and Chester Unitary Council on 1 May saw a landslide victory for the Conservatives who won 55 of the 72 seats. Weaver Vale managed to trump even this, with Conservatives taking all 15 seats that cover the constituency as follows:
Abbey: Herbert Manley, Jan Mashlan and Keith Musgrave.
Frodsham & Helsby: Andrew Dawson, Les Ford and Mark Ingram
Northwich East & Shakerley: Terry Birtwistle, George Miller and Mark Stocks
Northwich West: Kate Birtwistle, Simon Macdonald and Helen Weltman
Weaver: Alan McKie, Ralph Oultram and Lynn Riley
There were also elections in Halton where Marjorie Bradshaw was elected and will serve alongside her husband John, both representing Daresbury (above left)
