Graham Evans attends the 42nd Cheshire Hike

The 42nd Cheshire Hike was a record breaking event on two counts. Firstly it snowed! and secondly 302 teams, that is over 500 scouts, set off on Saturday morning for the 30 km Hike which would include an over night stay (in the snow) and completion on Sunday afternoon.

I would like to thank the scout organisers and their 300 leaders and staff who looked after the scouts over the weekend. Safety is the watch word and all routes are fully checked before hand, the scouts are monitored all along the route which is very labour intensive, not to mention all the months of planning and preparation.

Congratulations to all the Scouts, Sea Scouts and Guides who took part in this great Cheshire event, we parents are all very proud of what you all achieved! Well done to all involved, I look forward to the 43rd Cheshire Hike, hopefully without the snow!

Kind Regards

Graham
