Ruth Lea Speaks at Weaver Vale Business Forum
Ruth Lea, Director of the Centre for Policy Studies and regular columnist for The Daily Telegraph, spoke at the inaugural dinner of the Weaver Vale Conservative Business Forum which took place on Friday 28 October at the Forest Hills Hotel in Frodsham.
40 attendees came from a wide range of business sectors including manufacturing, farming, surveying, legal and financial. There was also a good range of age and experience from those starting out in business to those who had retired.
Ruth Lea gave a very interesting and thought provoking speech on Britains Economic Prospect with an overview of how Britains economy has changed over the last 30 years and the challenges both home and abroad that face it today.
This was followed by questions from the attendees on topics as diverse as the Pensions Crisis, European enlargement and Interest Rates.
Weaver Vale Conservative Business Forum would like to thank Ruth Lea for such an entertaining evening and all those who attended and are looking forward to the next dinner should take place in May 2006. For further information contact out Deputy Chairman
The Forum is planned to be a business dinner to be held 2 or 3 times per year with a prominent speaker on a business topic, with the opportunity for Questions and Answers from the floor.
