SHADOW HEALTH MINISTER STEPHEN O’BRIAN MP VISITS WEAVER VALE

Prospective Conservative MPs from across the North West and beyond – East Midlands and Yorkshire (Harrogate) – were in Weaver Vale last week to discuss the current situation in the NHS with Shadow Health Minister Stephen O’Brien MP. The meeting was arranged by Weaver Vale’s prospective MP Graham Evans on the day in which Stephen revealed shocking new figures on the number of malnourished patients leaving the region’s hospitals.

Stephen said “The NHS is the number one priority for the Conservative Party in the North West. Across many communities in the region, we are seeing cuts, in spite of the best efforts of the staff in our hospitals.

“Our candidates are passionate about defending their local NHS services against these cuts and our meeting was a good opportunity to brief them again on our exciting plans for a greater NHS autonomy, allowing staff a greater say in local services driven by the patients – not the other way round as under this Labour Government.”

Weaver Vale’s prospective MP Cllr Graham Evans said “ we had a fantastic turn out given the challenging weather conditions! this is the first in a raft of North West candidates briefings by members of the shadow cabinet to take place between now and the general election.”
